Since the collapse of the old Soviet system, the much greater openness in Russian society has meant that information, which until a relatively short time ago was treated as classified, has gradually become available.
This latest title in the Red Star series provides an in-depth study of the Kamov 27/-32 series helicopters. The Kamov Ka27 helicopter was first produced for the Soviet navy in 1973. Several variants including the Ka29 and Ka31 were produced. The Ka32 was a civil version of the Ka27 that was first manufactured in 1980. Once again several variants were built, including those for transport and shipboard utility purposes.
